Use Social Media to Drive Traffic to Your Blog

The debate on how much effort and resource a business should invest in social media for engagement continues, and the jury is still out in my opinion.

However we at BusinessBlogs.co.nz have found that social networks are increasing our website inbound traffic by 30-40% and the good news is we are spending less time in social networks to achieve this amazing growth. How are we doing it? Well we are no longer spending any manual time updating our social media profiles.

Our social media strategy for BusinessBlogs.co.nz focuses less on direct engagement within social networks and more on automatically broadcasting our posts to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn (also bookmarking sites, RSS and email).

As with most things Internet there are freeware tools available however they are known to crash quite a lot and understandably when millions of people are using them. For our business we therefore chose a solution we knew was reliable, and had other time saving features available. The results are there for us and we believe they could be there for you too.

How this process works is by using CampaignHub’s broadcast feature, which has an easy “set and forget” wizard that BusinessBlogs.co.nz, PropertyBlogs.co.nz and BusinessBlogsHub.com use (as well as other blog sites).

We first started to use the free broadcasting tools such as TwitterFeed but I was amazed at how often they crashed resulting in the posts not making it to the social networks. Sometimes FREE is not smart for business especially if you want reliability and phone support :)

Saving time and staff resources within social media is very important for our businesses as social networks can become a massive “time vacuum” if not managed correctly and using the correct strategy and software. Our blog sites have benefitted from the social networks but only after we started to use CampaignHub – before that the time and cost to post within social networks was an issue.

Check out CampaignHub.co.nz if you are interested in social media solutions for your business. We also use the software to help filter prospects so our cost of customer acquisition is much cheaper (read about that cool feature here).
